Granular Fertilisers for Indoor and Container Plants

Welcome to our collection of granular fertilisers, selected to cater for the needs of most indoor or container-grown plants. Our selection of water-soluble fertilisers includes K-Lite 12-1-1, MSU RO Water Special(13-3-15) for city & pure water settings and MSU Well Water Special (19-4-23) for well water use. We also offer nutrient supplements that include Calcium Nitrate, Magnesium Sulphate, and Ammonium Nitrate.

K Lite Orchid fertiliser can be used for other high-nitrogen applications like foliage plants or to encourage the growth of seedlings.

The nutritional program developed by Michigan State University differs significantly from common practices in orchid fertilisation. Referred to as "Michigan State University’s Magic Fertilizer," it comprises two formulas: RO Water Special (13-3-15) and Well Water Special (19-4-23). The former is suitable for pure water sources like rainwater or reverse osmosis (RO) purified water, while the latter is designed to complement well water.

These formulas were created by John Biernbaum, Ph.D., Bill Argo, Ph.D., and Larry Metcoff specifically for use in MSU's research and teaching greenhouses for various horticultural crops.

Although initially not intended for orchids, Biernbaum recommended trying the Well Water Special on orchids, leading to successful results over the past six to seven years. This versatile fertiliser is also used for a wide range of plants in the teaching collection at MSU, including ferns, conifers, annuals, perennials, and tropical plants, demonstrating its adaptability to various plant types.
